Be it resolved that the SFUO shall provide OC TRANSPO tickets, sufficient for arrival and departure, to all students as requested, and in attendance for the duration of the BOA meeting.An amendment to add STO (which is the Quebec bus transit company)... No discussion on the amendment.
Questions on the "duration of the BOA meeting"... How do we define duration?
Ted Horton, who brought forward the motion, says that is a technicality.
Renaud-Philippe Garner, sitting next to me, says we would not need this discussion if we had a U-PASS. Dean Haldenby, President of the SFUO, responds to questions by saying they would purchase bus tickets and have them during the meeting. Students wishing to get reimbursed must present a receipt.

I would say unanimous. All students wishing to attend SFUO BOA meetings can now get their bus tickets reimbursed.

Why are they voting on such menial matters, does the BOA need to vote on such a small expenditure?
Good question.
I think the idea was to make it standard that they would allow for any student who wants to attend to have their bus tickets reimbursed. However, like it was brought up, it would probably be a good idea for the SFUO to start using a policy manual instead of committing everything to by-laws. Our constitution changes so often, that it's not even worth committing it to paper anymore, if it will have to be reprinted every 3 months. I'm exaggerating, but really, not that much.
